Lead UI/UX Designer

The Role

As a lead UI/UX Designer, you will lead the vision for several product areas in collaboration with leaders across Product, Engineering and Design. Working closely with product managers, software engineers, designers, and user researchers, you will design and build high-performing and user-centric products for our customers. You’ll test your hypotheses through user research, analytics data and insights derived from data to inform your design decisions. With your product management and engineering partners, you’ll define product requirements, not just translate them into designs.

 

As a lead UI/UX designer, you will be producing both low- and high-fidelity representations of proposed designs (wireframes, screen mockups, and prototypes) focusing on user experience and interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, user experience and visual design.

  • Understand customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research, and by gathering user feedback.

  • Conceptualizing original ideas that enable user-friendly design solutions addressing complex design roadblocks

  • Facilitate the design process, from concepting to working with engineering through implementation. Present and iterate design solutions to your partners across the organization.

  • Work to define the appropriate interaction model for the Aiberry user experience, and evaluate its success

  • Design end-to-end Aiberry user experience, including the interaction flow of services and experiences across channels (web, mobile, etc).

  • Develop personas, customer journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes.

  • Outperform the competition with your user experience designs for web, native mobile and responsive interfaces

Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of industry experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer or similar design-related role.

  • Experience working in direct collaboration with product managers, software developers, and/or stakeholders.

  • Experience creating prototypes or wireframes for web/mobile applications and/or workflows.

  • An online portfolio demonstrating samples of design deliverables (personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes) is required to apply for this role.

  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent degree

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps.

  • Experience with telehealth applications

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Able to work independently with little supervision

  • Creative, self-starter and with good problem-solving skills

Location and Compensation
  • Preferred location: Seattle metro area. Remote work is ok.

  • This is a contractor position with a potential future hire. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
